2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Specification - The Jetta GLI is one of the favorites among drivers who like some extra thrill in their driving experience. Now, the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI engine specs and performance are providing that fun and sporty driving experience once more, leaving drivers with a lot to get excited about. The reason the Jetta GLI is considered to be the sedan version of the Golf GTI is primarily because the two model’s are outfitted with the same engine. Volkswagen has not stated any figures for torque just yet. But the Golf GTI, equipped with the same engine, also puts out 210 horsepower in addition to 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Therefore, it’s probably a safe guess that the GLI will be the same. Will the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI have a performance package? The 2015 Golf GTI has a performance package that can boost horsepower to 220. No mention has been made of any type of performance package for the 2016 GLI so far. That being said, the model does come equipped with a specially tuned sport suspension and new rear bumper design with a diffuser. The Jetta GLI also has 18-inch Mallory design aluminum-alloy wheels with standard all-season tires. Summer performance tires are optional.
